It’s only a few minutes walk from the parking lot before you get a view of the waterfall from the top. If you want to see the bottom of the falls, just take the staircase down. The waterfall runs year round, and each season brings gorgeous views.

2. Raymondskill Falls

Next up is Raymondskill Falls, the tallest waterfall in Pennsylvania. This three-tiered waterfall is 178 feet high and can be seen via a short hike. The 0.3 mile hike takes you to two different viewing areas, an upper and lower viewing platform so you can fully take in the impressive falls. It’s the perfect place for an epic selfie or family photo.

Things to do near Raymondskill Falls: Besides the Raymondskill Falls Trail there are several other great hiking trails located in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. High Point State Park in Delaware is just across the state line for more great hiking. And New York City is just 73 miles away if you’re looking to visit the Big Apple.

3. Dry Run Falls

Despite the name, Dry Run Falls is always gushing with water. At only about 20 feet, these gorgeous falls might not be the highest, but they cascade over the rock face in an impressive drop. And what makes it even better is that it’s a roadside waterfall and easy to see! The waterfall is just steps away from the parking lot, and there’s even a picnic area so you can enjoy a snack or lunch. If you want to get closer, there’s a short but steep path that leads to the bottom of the falls.

Things to do near Dry Run Falls: Part of Loyalsock State Forest, this waterfall is in the northeastern part of Pennsylvania. High Knob Overlook is nearby for stunning views of the landscape. And the historic Hillsgrove Covered Bridge is a short drive to the north if you want to explore a piece of Pennsylvania history.

4. Bushkill Falls

Known as the Niagara of Pennsylvania, Bushkill Falls is a series of eight waterfalls situated deep in the Pocono Mountains. The drop of the main falls is around 100 feet, but the drop of all the falls together is 300 feet. The park is privately owned and there is an admission fee to see these falls, but visitors can then hike the two mile trail to see all of the waterfalls.

Things to do near Bushkill Falls: You’re right outside the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area for fantastic hiking, camping, and water sports. You’re only 6 miles to the next waterfall on our list. And you’re only 20 miles to Raymondskill Falls. Looking for some great state parks in Pennsylvania? Tobyhanna State Park is only 40 miles away.

5. Dingmans Falls

Dingman Falls is the second highest waterfall in Pennsylvania at 130 feet. And the waterfall is easy to access via the stroller and handicap accessible boardwalk of Dingmans Falls Trail, which makes this a popular spot for visitors. As you meander down the 0.4 miles trail through the hemlock trees you’ll pass a bonus waterfall, Silver Thread Falls. Once you reach the viewing area at the top of the falls, you can take a set of stairs down to the viewing platform at the bottom of the falls for another perspective.

6. Buttermilk Falls

There are several waterfalls in Pennsylvania named Buttermilk Falls, so be sure to check out the one in Indiana County. This waterfall is located in the Buttermilk Falls Natural Area and features a 45 foot tall waterfall surrounded by woods. And a fun fact, this land was once owned by the grandfather of Fred Rodgers of Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood! Today it’s open to the public and a wheelchair accessible boardwalk leads from the parking lot to the upper observation deck of the falls. If you want another view of the falls, follow the stairs from the upper deck down to the bottom of the falls and even behind the cascading water.

Things to do near Buttermilk Falls: Just north of the town of Indiana are four remaining historic covered bridges, which are worth a stop to see some of Pennsylvania’s history. Or stop by Yellow Creek State Park for hiking, swimming, and fishing opportunities. You’re also just over 50 miles east of Pittsburg. We’ve put together a local’s guide on the best things to do, see, and eat in the area, and have you covered with nearby RV rentals.

8. Sullivan Falls

Sullivan Falls is hidden away in State Game Lands 13, just down the road from Ricketts Glen State Park. And because it’s less popular than the state park, the waterfalls here tend to be less crowded. It’s also very easy to access. Just a short hike from the parking lot down a trail will lead visitors to the top of this lovely waterfall. To view the falls from the bottom, take the switchback trail down to the base of the waterfall. The gorgeous cascading water and the quiet and idyllic surroundings make this a great waterfall to visit.

And be sure to visit Ricketts Glen State Park, which is where our next waterfall sits. This state park is home to over 20 waterfalls and is just a few minutes drive away.

9. Ganoga Falls

Located in Ricketts Glen State Park, Ganoga Falls is just one of the many impressive waterfalls that you can hike to. In fact, there are over 20 named waterfalls along the 7.2-mile aptly named Fall’s Trail, but the largest is Ganoga Falls. This 94-foot waterfall is the crowning jewel of the trail. And if there’s only one place you can get to in Pennsylvania for epic waterfall viewing, this should be it!

Things to do near Ganoga Falls: Explore the rest of the state park with its fishing, hiking, and camping opportunities. Then if you haven’t had your fill of waterfalls yet, head to State Games Lands 13 to see Sullivan Falls and the other waterfalls on that land.

10. Fallingwater

There are a lot of amazing waterfalls in Pennsylvania and number nine on our list had 20 in one place, so we’re going to add a wildcard to the list – Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater. The waterfall itself is on Bear Run, tributary of the Youghiogheny River, and the water gently cascades over rocks in several tiers and flows down the stream. But what makes this so impressive is the house that’s built over it. The house is a designated National Historic Landmark and on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It can be toured to learn how Wright designed the home to embrace the surrounding nature with organic architecture. Fans of waterfalls and architecture alike will want to stop by to visit!

Things to do near Fallingwater: Explore Bear Run Nature Reserve for fantastic hiking and scenery, and stop by Paradise Overlook for sweeping views of the river and forest. Cucumber Falls is also a short drive away, and you’re about 70 miles south of Pittsburg.
